Accepting New Patients

As of 12/01/20.

New Patients

Welcome! We appreciate and value that you chose us to guide you in your healing journey. New clients must schedule a Comprehensive Case Review or Comprehensive Case Review with acupuncture. If you schedule your first appointment online or call us at the clinic, you will receive an email containing a link for you to set up your patient portal and fill out online forms. If you do not receive this email before your scheduled appointment time, please let us know as soon as possible. We need you to fill out the necessary intake and consent forms before you arrive at the clinic.

First Appointment:
Comprehensive Case Review and Evaluation

During the case review, you may be asked about things that you might not think are connected to your chief complaint, such as your emotions, sleeping patterns, and eating habits. Asian Medicine considers the whole person, not just one isolated symptom. When put together, the myriad of symptoms and signs you are experiencing reveal patterns of disharmony. Although treatment will focus on your chief complaint, your whole being must be considered in order to develop the most appropriate course of treatment. In addition, I may do a more extensive physical exam that involves a palpation exam.

We will discuss your dietary choices and how they affect your health. We will go over what changes I would like you to make to your diet and why. Education of
my patients is very important to me so expect to learn a good amount while you
are here.

  • Bring your notes and a list of current medications you are taking, including any prescriptions, over-the-counter medications, herbal supplements, and vitamins.
  • Please bring any lab or medical reports relevant to your condition.

At the end of this appointment, you will receive our recommendations for treatment and how we can best help you. We will schedule an appointment with Ellen Evans, our health coach, to go over your health habits and help you make a plan to implement any health behavior changes I recommended and you are ready to make.  If your customized treatment plan calls for acupuncture or the Source of Stress Examination, we will book your appointments accordingly.
